I am a contemporary abstract landscape artist based in Cheshire.
I came back to fine art over lockdown where my creative urge resurfaced, the need to record my daily walks, to understand the emotional impact that the nature and the landscape was having on me. Painting became my outlet and coping mechanism.
Having lost my sister in November 2021 I find the act of painting through my grief has been an essential part of my emotional survival. The landscape has become a therapeutic place for me, the views of the flat Cheshire plains towards the Welsh mountains are so uplifting that the feelings had to be captured through paint. Colour is so central to my work, the calming blue and greys to the joyful pinks and lilacs all help to convey the landscape’s ability to heal.
A lot of my work is still very emotional, with lots of layers and stories underneath so the final piece resonates with meaning.
Bridget attended Art college in Cheshire in the 1980’s. She went on to have a successful career in advertising in London. She only returned to painting again in 2020, due to lockdown and the emotional outlet she needed at that time. She has since had a successful solo exhibition with Galley 6 in Newark in 2021 and has had her work exhibited in various galleries throughout the UK. Her work sells to private collectors throughout the UK and USA.
