Artists Dawn Stacey

Paintings focus on a response to the landscape capturing
changing seasons of lakes, woodlands, gardens and my
allotment. I love to paint flowers or plants with a detailed
botanical influence over a worn fresco surface that can
include a narrative of people portraying intimate
connections in the landscape. Animals, insects or birds can
often be interwoven into the painting, perhaps swans flying
over a lake or deer looking out from a forest. The final piece
is often intended to capture a peaceful, magical place
surrounded by the natural world.

I originally studied for a Textile Diploma and following onto
graduate with an MA in Sequential Illustration, since
painting professionally from my studio and recently
completed a City of guilds Diploma In Horticulture. My work
has been exhibited widely throughout the UK. John Lewis
has published prints of my paintings while collections were
also bought for Brighton hospital Trust and St.Wilfrid’s
hospice.
