Artists Greg Becker

I like to paint quiet scenes with an echo of a tranquil lost world in which ideally there is a suggestion of mystery or secrets yet to unfold. I try to fuse this longing for an imaginary forgotten era into images recorded on regular walks in South Downs in West Sussex or parks near to my home in South London.

Using a combination of memory, observational drawing and photographs as reference, I create paintings and prints in a variety of media.

Recently I have become interested specific elements seen in the countryside that represent man’s transient effect on the landscape.

Since leaving the royal college of art in 1983, Greg Becker has worked firstly as a successful illustrator and now as a professional artist. His paintings have been exhibited at the RA  summer show and many galleries both in London and internationally.
