Artists Jackie Almond

Time spent as a colourist of Antiquarian prints taught me about the subtleties of light and tone and my aim is to communicate the essence of an atmosphere, which evokes stillness and silence. I studied English at university and literature have consequently been a constant inspiration for my painting. Places and sensibilities are also major influences. I paint: interiors; fading flowers and abstract landscapes. My work has been exhibited in London galleries and in East Anglia. I have also exhibited, on two occasions, at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.

For many years I divided my time between London and France. I now live on the Suffolk coast which provides a constant source of inspiration and I am part of the yearly Walberswick Open Studios.
