I have been drawn and inspired by the natural environment, immersing myself in nature and observing natures rich tapestry, whether it be patterns across a landscape along a coastline or cast shadows falling across a pathway.
In my recent making practice, I translate these observed qualities by directly drawing with marks on paper and clay. The works on paper, including Japanese paper, are followed by inks watercolour earth pigments and gold leaf.
The works with clay have been constructed by using a selection of clays, including black and white stoneware porcelain and bone china.
The works are abstract in form and have a mediative quality.
