The natural world is a constant inspiration for my work. Everything in nature is captivating, a bombardment of the senses, having a perfect balance of beauty and functionality. I strive to bring some of this into my art, carefully forming my pieces by hand, and combining contemporary technology with traditional techniques.
I predominantly work with wood, which is unique, natural, and always full of character, I find it adds depth and warmth to my pieces not many other materials can. I look to celebrate timbers’ natural aesthetic by allowing my work to be informed by its structure and texture.
I am a skilled designer and maker who trained in Oxford with the Rycotewood Furniture School and graduated with a BA honors in 2020, having won multiple awards for my designs. Since then, I have moved on to work alongside the renowned and multi-award-winning furniture designer, Richard Williams from a beautiful 18th-century tithe barn near Beaconsfield. Day to day I work on bespoke handmade projects of the highest quality for super yachts and stately homes.
My profession is more than just an occupation. Each of my pieces is an expression of myself, the objects should not just be functional but beautiful too. It stems from a personal frustration that many objects in the home are soulless, mass produced to be replaced by the next best thing. I feel that objects should be carefully crafted to last, having a perfect combination of form, function, integrity, and character.
